The King of Sunday Morning
Jay B McCauley has been a staple diet in the House Music scene for over 30 years. Playing to crowds the world over he has always focused on the more soulful side of the street. Starting when dance music first exploded in the UK during the summer of love, he has performed under his real name and his alternate The King of Sunday Morning all over Europe and the Australian continent.
In Sydney he has performed at Home the Venue and all the major clubs that were once a feature on the Sydney landscape. He has also been a House Music writer and collaborator during that entire period working with artists such as Jesse Saunders, Terry Hunter and Ron Carroll.
He pulls a crowd wherever he plays but it is on the terrace where he is most comfortable. With that vibe of sun-drenched beaches, he manages to weave a sound that speaks of endless summers and balmy tropical nights. As a result, he was recently invited to play at Café Del Mar and supported the legendary Honey Dijon.
2020 saw him release the awesome ‘Good For Nothing’ on Souluxe Records with a host of Australian collaborators including Rebecca Burgin, Kocho and label head honcho Romy Black. A track that truly reflects his House origins, Good for Nothing received critical acclaim and widespread DJ support.
He is presenter of the legendary ‘Love House’; exclusive to Bondi Radio featuring the best upfront, soulful and vocal House from around the globe. More than just a mix show, it features interviews with international and local superstars UNAVAILABLE ON ANY OTHER PLATFORM each and every Sunday afternoon for 2 hours.
He is also editor-in-chief at Switched On Music! which is fast becoming one of the best platforms for focusing on House Music. This year alone has seen him interview Louie Vega, David Morales, Terry Farley, Barbara Tucker, Danny Rampling, Inaya Day, Kathy Brown, Horse Meat Disco, Seamus Haji, Marshall Jefferson and so many more.
He is a published author having released a fictional tale about the dance scene called The King of Sunday Morning, regarded by Danny Rampling as, ‘A great book. Essential reading.’
